EB-1A critical role

Leading or critical role is one criterion: a leading or critical role for an organization with a distinguished reputation. Both halves have to be true.

Examples that are still only claims until documented

You owned the migration that the company’s revenue depended on. You were the only person who could ship the protocol other teams then used. You directed a lab, a product line, or a national program. Those sentences belong in the resume. The exhibit is what shows the organization is distinguished and that the result turned on you.

  • Reputation: press, rankings, funding, market position, or a government role, from outside the petition
  • Your role: org chart, scope, and what stopped or failed without you
  • Not enough: a title, a headcount, or a letter that repeats the job description

What a critical-role RFE tends to ask

How the organization is distinguished, not just well known to you. Why your role was leading or critical rather than senior. Whether the letter writers saw the work or only manage you. Internal praise with no outside effect often draws this request. An answer is more exhibits, not a longer adjective.
