EB-1A for India
Being born in India changes visa-number wait times. It does not change the ten criteria. This page keeps those two questions apart.
Eligibility first
Extraordinary ability is the same regulation for every country of birth. Three criteria or one true major award, then final merits. A long EB-2 wait is a reason people ask about EB-1A. It is not evidence for any box.
Priority date, backlog, processing
The priority date is set when a proper petition is filed. The visa bulletin says when a date is current for a chargeability area. India EB-1 and India EB-2 have not moved in lockstep, and this page will not quote a bulletin line that will be wrong next month. Check the State Department bulletin for the month you care about.
USCIS processing time is how long the petition takes to be adjudicated. It is not the wait for a visa number after approval. Premium processing speeds the petition decision. It does not make a weak file stronger and it does not move the bulletin.
