EB-1A for musicians
Also searched as EB1A for musicians.
In the arts, exhibitions and performing-arts commercial success can apply directly. Chart, tour, and critical coverage matter more than a teaching job.
Who this is for
Performers, composers, and recording artists with national or international acclaim.
Evidence that usually matters
- Awards that are nationally or internationally recognized for excellence, with selection criteria
- Published material about you in major media or trade press
- Display or performance at distinguished venues (this criterion can apply in the arts)
- Commercial success in the performing arts: sales, charts, box office, with figures
- Leading or critical role in a distinguished ensemble, label, or production
What often does not hold up
- Local recitals and campus concerts treated as national acclaim
- Self-released streams with no independent chart or press
- Comparable-evidence arguments you do not need if the arts boxes actually apply
EB-1A is a self-petition. You can be in any country. The statute names five fields (sciences, arts, education, business, athletics). Meeting three criteria is only Step 1. Final merits still has to show sustained acclaim.
This is not a law firm and does not file petitions. USCIS decides each case on its own record.
