EB-1A for cloud architects
Also searched as EB1A for cloud architects.
EB-1A for cloud architects: adopted architecture, standards, a critical role, judging. A certification is not a criterion. Free check. Not a USCIS decision.
Who this is for
Architects whose designs, standards, or platforms were used beyond one employer.
Evidence that usually matters
- Original contributions: an architecture, control plane, or practice others adopted
- Critical role for a distinguished platform or organization
- Judging: program committees, standards bodies, or independent design review
- Published material or major trade articles about the work, written by someone else
What often does not hold up
- Cloud certifications treated as awards or membership
- A reference architecture that never left the company
- Conference talks with no independent write-up and no judging role
Certification is not extraordinary ability
AWS, Azure, and Google certificates show study. They are not nationally competitive awards, and they are not membership that requires outstanding achievement. The ten criteria are the same as for any other science or business filing.
What officers can actually read
A diagram in a slide deck is a claim. Adoption is an exhibit: another company, a standard, a paper, or a public postmortem that used your design and is not written by your manager. A critical-role letter has to explain what failed without you, at an organization whose reputation you can document.
EB-1A is a self-petition. You can be in any country. The statute names five fields (sciences, arts, education, business, athletics). Meeting three criteria is only Step 1. Final merits still has to show sustained acclaim.
This is not a law firm and does not file petitions. USCIS decides each case on its own record.
